Carlos and Tova Moreno
Tova and Carlos have been dancing Argentine tango together for almost a decade - and they're still just as fired up and passionate about the dance as they were when they took their first tango-steps together in Seattle in 1997. The Morenos regularly teach and perform at tango weekends and festivals across the country. Their performances are applauded for their musicality and playfulness. As instructors, the Morenos hook students with a happiness and sense of fun that is innate to their personalities, but keep students coming back with solid technique and a gentle demand for precision and hard work.
Tova and Carlos became professional tango instructors in 2002 in Baltimore where they established a welcoming tango community that still thrives. Now living in Boston while Carlos pursues a graduate degree, the Morenos are among the favorite instructors of New England's university tangueros, teaching regularly at MIT, Harvard, and Brandeis University. They've taught in festivals and given workshops in many places, including New York, New Haven, Kansas City, Maine, and Mexico.
Carlos sings tangos so well it makes women (and some men) swoon, and Tova organizes a very popular festival in Boston in November, Tango de los Muertos , which draws tango dance and music addicts from all over the world. They also host the popular Milonga Naranja in Boston. Visit their website. |

AnaLinda Marcus
Argentine Tango is an
improvisational social dance that changes lives, and AnaLinda
fell under its spell 6 years ago. Through Tango she discovered
the exacting improvisational connection to partner dance
and musical interpretation she had been seeking. She dances
an authentic Argentine Tango both playful and elegant,
with great physical dynamism, and she teaches with clarity
and joy. Social dance has been the connective
tissue of her life since age 12. After dancing Jazz and
Hip-hop in her 20’s,
she renewed her childhood involvement with Latin social
dance in her 30’s and Salsa is her second dance home,
influencing her Tango style. Early on a student of Tai
Chi and still studying Yoga, her method of movement in
the Tango utilizes these systems concepts of stretch and
release, and weight and counterweight. Her dancing has
been described as both sinuous and tensile in quality.
AnaLinda has taught classes on social issues for more than
20 years and dance for 4 years, initially as an assistant
to Sharna Fabiano of the Boston Tango School . For the
last 3 years she has led her own group and private classes.
She is a member of the faculty at the Brookline Community
Center for the Arts, at the Dance Complex in Cambridge
, MA , and is adjunct faculty at North Shore Community
College . She has traveled extensively to pursue Tango
passion throughout North America and to Buenos Aires several
times. AnaLinda has performed extensively in the region.
